Overview of the Writing Readiness Review:

1. Opening Section: Students reflect on past experiences with academic reading and writing and on future expectations of college-level writing.
2. Sample Readings: Students read and reflect on readings similar to those encountered in WRI-01 & WRI-10.
3. Sample Writing Assignments: Students read and reflect on writing assignments similar to those encountered in WRI-01 & WRI-10.
4. Sample Student Writing: Students read and reflect on sample student writing and the types of feedback given in WRI-01 and WRI-10 courses.
5. Student Writing Submission: Students submit an example of their best writing or write a new essay in response to a prompt and reflect on the chosen writing sample.
6. Course Description & Selection: Students have the opportunity to meet with Writing Instructors and make an informed decision about their first writing course.
